The Best Halloween Jewelry EVER!

Totally kidding!

But, I did have fun putting them together to go with our costumes.

Justin and I went to a Halloween costume party Saturday night and had a lot of fun. There were so many fun costumes. Billy Mays, Marilyn Monroe, Dwight from The Office, Indiana Jones, Luigi, a hunter, Glinda, a runner, and so many others.

I do have to say that the Billy Mays costume was pretty good. This guy had the full beard and a bottle of OxiClean.

Justin dressed up as a Jagermeister Wizard and I dressed up as a bumble bee. Saturday afternoon Justin and I decided his costume needed something more. So he ran to the liquor store, bought 3 small bottles of Jagermeister, and dumped them into the larger bottle we already had while I began pulling beads from my collection that were MANLY and went with the bottles.

He then punctured a hole in the empty bottles cap, and I attached a headpin through each one to dangle from my strand. I found a huge clasp in my collection of beads, and used that to hook the necklace together.

This necklace is heavy. I was so worried all night that it was just going to break and we'd have beads and glass all over the place. Luckily, it's still in tact!

It was fun making a Jagermeister necklace for Justin's costume

My earrings to go with the bee costume.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Pores of The Ocean

Pores of The Ocean is a gift for my friend Stephanie.

I've blogged about her before, and decided to make her a necklace for her 25th birthday which is November 3rd.

Boy do we look YOUNG!

Happy 25th Birthday Stephanie!

Teardrops as Petals Fall

I've been sitting on this necklace since Labor Day weekend.

First I ran out of beads that I wanted to use. Second, I couldn't find any more beads to add to it, and third, I kind of forgot about it!

After a nice 26th birthday weekend out in Minneapolis, then home to Wisconsin to my parents, I got back to beading and finished this necklace.

(Even if it's ridiculously cold/windy/rainy outside and all I want to do is cuddle up and sleep)

Halloween Earrings for Caitlyn the Witch

A few weekends ago I went home to my parents, and spent a few hours on Saturday with my niece Caitlyn. She came to Shopko with me, and we headed to the Halloween section.

You should have seen us. I was throwing costumes on her right there in the aisle over her clothes, as she was just giddy in what we were going to try on next. She ended up finding a witches costume that she just had to have.

She asked me to call her mom and ask if I could buy it for her. Carrie said yes, and we brought the costume back to my brother's house and she had to try it on for Boyd (her dad) and Billy (her brother).

She looked adorable! I can't wait to get the pictures back of her trick-or-treating!

She then asked if I'd make her some Halloween earrings. She was really cute about it. "When I wear them, and my friends ask where I got them, I'll say my aunt made them!" She proceeded to say, "You can make me Thanksgiving earrings, Christmas earrings, Valentines Day earrings..." Oh jeez!

The Play of the Leaves

I have plans for this necklace.
I'll be gifting this to someone I promised a necklace to awhile back.

I bought the green ceramic beads and leaf bead caps through Fire Mountain Gems and Beads with Christmas jewelry in mind. I like how it has the holly leaf look, and new right away what I wanted to do.

I have other plans for these bead caps as well... all within the Christmas/Holiday theme. I'm thinking some sparkly blue and silver for my next piece.

No Rest For The Weekend

I strung the beads on "No Rest For The Weekend" using my Bead Spinner.
I think I finally got the hang of it!

The name of this necklace is not how my weekend will look.

It's offically MEA break (teacher conference) and I'll be getting a lot of rest. I finished this up tonight, and started working on another piece!

I'm really excited to finish it and show it off!

My New Toy - The Bead Spinner

This past weekend Justin and I went to see his mom and grandma, as well as celebrate my 26th birthday.
 (My birthday is October 23rd)

We went out for supper at Green Mill and came home to cake and presents! I received a bunch of bead strands as well as a Bead Spinner for gifts. (Along with some towels, candles, and notepad items)

I've always wanted a Bead Spinner, but wasn't sure how well they work.

I'm still trying to get the hang of it. Sometimes I think it would be quicker to string those little beads on myself, but I'm sure I'll get better at it.

I'm looking forward to using all my new presents this week. I only have school Monday-Wednesday as Thursday and Friday are MEA (Teacher's convention)
Here's to sleeping in and beading!

Have a great Monday!

An Olive Grove Facing The Sea

It feels like FOREVER since I've been on my blog. That's what I get for scheduling two tests, one essay, and one speech all due within three days of each other. (Not all for the same class). Most nights last week I didn't even turn on my computer!

Since my post last Monday, I spent my evenings grading. Tuesday night was my speech test. Wednesday night was my 8th grade test. Thursday-Monday night was spent grading speeches and grading 10th grade essays! Ick! Thank goodness that's over!

It's now time to bead and blog! It feels good to be back!

It's kind of a bulky necklace, but I really like how the beads feel - as well as how it looks while I'm wearing it. (I tried to take a picture, it just didn't turn out)

I'm hoping that after tonight, I'll be back sooner with more necklaces!

Seven Purple Moons

I found this broach and had to have it.
I weaved some purple beads through a chain and attached it to both sides of the broach, then added a different chain to finish it off.

Now for the winner of the October giveaway.
According to my 8th graders, the winner of the "Come Find Me" necklace is Teresa.

Congratulations!

Make sure you come back November 5th for another giveaway.
